Susie Nawaitodre is the principal owner and Director of Lewis Gallery, an organisation developed specifically to raise the profile and professionalism of artists and programs developing on the Fraser Coast.

In her capacity as director, Susie has worked as an artist, curator, mentor and industry educator with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) and has been nominated for an Australia Day Award for services to the Arts in her region. Susie has developed and co-ordinated projects that have led to record breaking numbers of viewers attending the opening of an exhibition at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery. Known for her relentless drive and determination to grow an industry that serves artists to develop sustainable careers, she has won several awards for her art work and contributions to her region.

In her role as Coordinator at Lewis Gallery, Karen M. Andersen works closely with Director Susie Nawaitodre in day-to-day gallery operations and management plus development and organisation of exhibitions and programs. Deeply passionate about helping other artists and seeing them succeed, Karen is dedicated to teaching the Artrepreneur program with Susie via Lewis Gallery (a series of professional development workshops designed to teach and empower artists with the business and personal skills they need in order to forge successful art careers for themselves).

Karen also works independently as a professional abstract artist. Having undertaken extensive tertiary studies in fine art, human and biological sciences, small business management, and specialised masterclasses (including working with renowned Australian abstractionist Ken Done), Karen creates artwork in response to her love of coastal environments and her experiences with depression and anxiety. In doing so, she has forged an award-winning art career with her work being held in collections across Australia, Britain, Europe, and the United States.
